The simulated density and ion temperature of the HDD target at peak compression with alpha deposition (Left) turned on and (Middle) turned off. The symmetry of the implosion is sufficient to ignite the DT fuel with high levels of margin (which will be quantified) and could be further tuned. For context, the same implosion is also shown in (Right) but at the scale of a NIF experiment.
