Texas has a long track record of attracting and nurturing the most important new industries and businesses, thanks to Texans’ unrivaled hustle and hunger for business development. It’s now aiming to be No. 1 in fusion – a safe and essentially limitless source of power and the last new energy source the planet needs.
Brian Boggs, who joined Xcimer in 2025 as head of strategic development, met recently with leaders of Texas A&M University to discuss the state’s role in building our nation’s emerging fusion corridors. In addition to Texas, Xcimer’s team is visiting sites in New Mexico, California and its home state of Colorado to house Xcimer’s Vulcan facility, which is expected to achieve the highest laser energy in the world using the largest laser amplifiers ever built. Xcimer plans to finalize site selection this year.
To our friends in the Lone Star State: Thanks for a productive visit. Gig ‘em, Aggies!
