Denver Business Journal: Defense giant’s VC arm invests in Denver laser energy company

RTX Ventures, the venture capital arm of RTX, has made a minority investment in laser fusion company Xcimer Energy Corporation (XEC) to support Xcimer’s development of scalable multi-kilojoule-class pulsed-laser technologies.
Building a laser system for electricity generation isn’t all that different from putting lasers to use in military systems, according to the company.
